Sections Overview
GRHAS welcomes diverse submissions in the humanities, arts, and social inquiry. Authors should select the section that best fits their work. Recommended word counts are flexible guidelines.
Original Articles (OA)
Peer-reviewed | Recommended: 5,000–9,000 words
Full-length research papers with theoretical, empirical, or methodological depth.
Theoretical Explorations (TE)
Peer-reviewed | Recommended: 5,000–8,000 words
Conceptual essays focused on interdisciplinary theory or critical frameworks.
Case Studies (CS)
Peer-reviewed | Recommended: 3,500–6,000 words
Analyses of specific sites, events, or practices with contextual relevance.
Methods & Tools (MT)
Peer-reviewed | Recommended: 3,500–6,000 words
Introductions to innovative research methods, creative processes, or scholarly tools applicable across disciplines.
Art Practices & Reflections (AP)
Peer-reviewed or reviewed | Recommended: 3,000–6,000 words
Reflections on creative work, curatorial process, or artistic research. Images welcome with proper attribution.
Conference Reports & Exchanges (CR)
Reviewed | Recommended: 2,500–6,000 words
Summaries and reflections on academic or artistic conferences. Includes keynotes, panels, and critical commentary.
Interviews & Dialogues (ID)
Reviewed | Recommended: 3,000–6,000 words
Curated conversations with scholarly or artistic value. Includes editorial introduction and annotated references.
Perspectives & Commentaries (PC)
Reviewed | Recommended: 1,200–2,500 words
Short-form reflections, provocations, or commentary on timely issues, theoretical trends, or critical debates.
Book Reviews (BR)
Reviewed | Recommended: 800–1,500 words
Critical commentary on recent scholarly books (within the last 5 years).
Thematic Introductions (TI)
By invitation only
Editorial introductions to special issues written by the editors.
Note on Format Flexibility
We recognize that word counts may vary based on the scope and structure of each submission. Innovative, hybrid, or nontraditional formats are encouraged, especially within OA, AP, or MT publication frameworks. If your submission follows a special format, kindly include a note in your cover letter.
