Author Guidelines
Welcome to the submission portal for Global Review of Humanities, Arts, and Society (GRHAS), an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal committed to interdisciplinary excellence in the humanities, arts, and social research. All submissions must follow the guidelines below regarding article types, formatting, editorial policy, and ethical standards.
All submitted manuscripts must demonstrate a similarity index of less than 20% using Turnitin or a comparable plagiarism detection tool.
1. Article Types and Sections
GRHAS accepts submissions under the following editorial sections. Please ensure your manuscript matches the appropriate category:

Original Articles (OA): Full-length original research with introduction, methods, analysis, and conclusion. Subject to double-blind peer review.

Theoretical Explorations (TE): Conceptual and interdisciplinary theoretical works with a strong literature review.

Case Studies (CS): In-depth studies of specific cultural, artistic, or social phenomena. Methodological innovation is welcome.

Book Reviews (BR): Critical reviews (800–1500 words) of scholarly books published within the past five years.

Interviews & Dialogues (ID): Scholarly interviews with an introduction and annotated references, suitable for citation.

Art Practices & Reflections (AP): Reflections on artistic creation, conceptual frameworks, and analytical discussion. Image use encouraged; rights must be declared.

Conference Reports & Exchanges (CR): Summaries and reflective accounts of academic or artistic conferences. Contributions may include overviews of keynotes, panel discussions, or post-event commentaries. Articles should highlight the relevance and emerging questions raised by the event. Submissions up to 6000 words, images permitted with proper credit.

Perspectives & Commentaries (PC): Short-form reflections or commentaries on current debates, theoretical provocations, or field-specific trends. Suitable for timely contributions with a distinct scholarly voice. Submissions typically range from 1200 to 2500 words.

Methods & Tools (MT):Papers introducing innovative research methods, artistic processes, or digital tools applicable to humanities and arts scholarship. Contributions should emphasize practical application and conceptual framing.

Thematic Introductions (TI): Editorials for special issues written by (guest) editors only. Not open for general submission.
2. Manuscript Formatting Requirements
2.1 Page and Layout
-
The first page is single-column (title, author, abstract, keywords);
-
From page two onwards, two-column layout applies (including appendices);
-
Page size: A4 or Letter; margins: 1 inch (top/bottom), 0.75 inch (left/right);
-
Line spacing: 1.5 or fixed at 16pt; paragraph spacing: 6pt before/after;
-
Fonts: EB Garamond (titles), Crimson Pro (body and references);
-
Font sizes: body 10pt, references 9pt, headers and footers 9pt;
-
First line indent: 0.5 inch (1.27 cm);
-
Header includes journal name, issue, title short, and author surname; footer includes page number and DOI.
2.2 Headings and Structure

Level 1: 12pt, bold, left-aligned (e.g., Introduction);
-
Level 2: 11pt, bold, left-aligned (e.g., 2.1 Background);
-
Level 3: 10pt, italic, left-aligned (e.g., 2.1.1 Detail);
-
Suggested structure includes: Introduction, Literature Review, Methods, Analysis, Conclusion, References, Appendices.
2.3 Figures and Citations
-
Tables and figures are centered and bold-labeled (e.g., Figure 1., Table 1.);
-
Table captions appear above, figure captions below;
-
Image formats: JPG, PNG, PDF (min. 300 DPI), with source attribution;
-
All data visuals must be legible and appropriate for peer review.
3. Abstract and Keywords
-
Abstract: 200–300 words, in English, justified text;
-
Keywords: 3–5 keywords, separated by commas;
-
“Abstract:” in bold 13pt; “Keywords:” in bold 10pt.
4. References
-
Choose one style: APA, Chicago, or IEEE (must be consistent throughout);
-
References use Crimson Pro Italic, 9pt, justified;
-
No first-line indent; 3pt spacing after each entry.

Using the template is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Manuscripts that do not meet formatting standards may be returned for revision.
Fonts Used in the Journal
GRHAS uses the following open-source fonts for manuscript formatting:

5. Submission & Review Process

All manuscripts must be submitted via the GRHAS online system in .docx format;
-
Submission requires metadata input (author info, keywords, ORCID, section selection);
-
GRHAS operates a double-blind peer review, with at least two independent reviewers;
-
Editorial decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, Reject;
-
Revised manuscripts must be accompanied by a detailed response letter.
6. Article Processing Charges (APC)
-
GRHAS charges a one-time APC upon acceptance to support open access publishing;
-
Standard fee for original articles: USD 480; see full APC policy for section-specific fees;
-
APC includes layout formatting, image processing (within standard range), DOI registration, and hosting;
-
Waivers available for authors from low-income countries, students, and those without funding;
-

7. Ethics and Copyright

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and ethically sound;
-
Proper citation is required; plagiarism is strictly prohibited;
-
AI tools (e.g., language editing, data visualization) must be transparently acknowledged;

Upon acceptance, authors grant GRHAS the right of first publication;
-
Authors retain copyright; articles are published under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license;
-
Commercial reuse requires written permission from the editorial office.
