Publication Ethics
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given, and plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited.
Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support must be disclosed.
2. Research Involving Human Subjects
For research involving human participants, authors must ensure compliance with all ethical standards, including informed consent and institutional ethics committee approval. Authors must be prepared to provide documentation upon request.
3. Data Integrity and Transparency
Authors should present their data accurately and transparently. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data constitutes unethical behavior and will result in manuscript rejection or retraction.
4. Authorship Criteria
All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. The corresponding author must confirm that all listed authors have approved the final manuscript.
5. Peer Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents. They must conduct reviews objectively, avoid conflicts of interest, and report any ethical concerns they detect to the editorial team.
6. Editorial Responsibilities
The editorial team is committed to making fair and unbiased decisions based solely on the academic merit of the submissions. Editors must ensure the confidentiality of submitted materials and must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in cases of conflicts of interest.
7. Handling of Ethical Misconduct
PEMR takes allegations of research misconduct seriously. Any concerns regarding plagiarism, data falsification, or other forms of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines.
If misconduct is confirmed, PEMR reserves the right to reject or retract the article and inform the relevant institutions.
8. Use of Generative AI Tools
Authors must disclose any use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) in the preparation of their manuscripts. AI cannot be credited as an author and must not be used to generate original research data. Any AI assistance should be mentioned transparently in the Methods or Acknowledgements sections.
9. Corrections and Retractions
If errors are discovered in published articles that affect the interpretation of results, appropriate corrections or retractions will be issued following COPE best practices.
10. Copyright and Licensing
Authors agree to transfer copyright to PEMR upon acceptance. Published articles are made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) license unless otherwise specified.
